Our much anticipated summer garden crop is tomatoes, Beefsteak, Brandywine and Romas. Last Thursday they were waiting for us, big, ripe and red. Some had to be eaten as soon as we got home. We cleaned and put the vegetables away between bites of tomato with a sprinkle of salt and a dash of pepper. Then we moved on to cucumbers and peppers followed by a sampling of the fresh red potatoes. Dinner may have been catch-as-catch-can but it was delicious.
